Please read the following information
Drysuit sizing
Glacier and Volcano Expeditions
require all participants to wear a provided drysuit whilst kayaking on the glacier lake
and we have a limited size range available. We can accommodate for people with a height range between 140cm (4’6 ft) and 198cm tall (6’6 ft).
The XL and XXL drysuits are only designed for tall people so please reconsider making a reservation if you or anyone in your group has a very big waist diameter.
Drysuit sizes available: S, M, L, XL and XXL- please check the size chart in the gallery to ensure that you fit into a drysuit. You can fit a drysuit that is a little too big, but you cannot fit a drysuit that is a little too small for your body!
We also have children’s drysuit sizes available, however we kindly ask families to please
contact us
prior to making a reservation
as we have age limits on the public tour departures.
The physical aspect to the tour
This is a physical tour that is suitable for those who are accustomed to hiking or exercise. You will be required to carry your boat (which weighs 5kg), paddle and equipment 300m to and from the lake. Paddling the boat does require having the core strength to sit with your body in a 90 degree position for over an hour so therefore those who have a very big waist diameter are not suited for this activity.
The kayak that you will use is an inflatable boat called a packraft. Packrafts are easy to paddle and are incredibly stable boats so there is very little chance that you will tip out. We have single and double boats available.
The meeting location and beginning of the tour
