In this glacier hike we hike on Falljökull, one of Vatnajökull´s steepest outlet glaciers.

The Total tour duration is about 3 hours. Our meeting point is Skaftafell Terminal https://goo.gl/maps/EKEpP6gZDA2wM6zo6

Here is a short glacier hike for those who are looking for an introduction to trekking on Iceland’s biggest glacier, Vatnajökull. From our meeting point we drive for about 25  minutes to reach the very footstep of Falljökull, a very impressive glacier outlet crawling straight down from Iceland’s highest peak (and tallest volcano), Hvannadalshnúkur.

The hike starts there, at the edge of the glacier’s terminal moraine, A hike on the sand cover path will slowly get you to the barren glacier ice, where you’ll be putting over your boots  the mountaineering crampons we’ll provide you with.

There we go for a little over an hour wandering around and between white, black and blue features carved into the glacier by its own movement. We’ll get a closer look at the crevasses and moulins, amongst other wonders.

Our short glacier hike is the perfect trip for beginners, nature lovers who want something impressive and easy.
